The Latinas & Power Symposium has created one of the most consistent and vital forums for Latinas to showcase their business, skills and remarkable track record advancing up the corporate ladder, cutting new paths in non-traditional fields for women, and outpacing men as entrepreneurs. In its seven years or operation, Latinas & Power Symposium is now considered one of the no-to-miss events in the Hartford metropolitan area. The event has reached thousands of women through its symposium, more than 50 Fortune 500 corporations, 60 local businesses, 22 colleges and 40 high schools, and has held its own even in this national financial crisis.
We highlight super achiever Latinas through our speakers’ forum at every event. This year’s Keynote speaker is Ms. Yasmin Davidds, an international best-selling author and empowerment specialist whose philosophy embraces teaching people from all walks of life on how to live empowering lives.
During the closing reception and in recognition of her many contributions as a role model, as an actor, and as a woman in the forefront of many vital issues, Academy Award Winner, Ms. Rita Moreno will be honored via satellite video. Another honoree will be Ms. Esmeralda Santiago, renowned author in both English and Spanish who will soon launch her next book, Conquistadora, along with a mini-series based on the story.
The objective of the symposium is to bring marketplace opportunities together with Latina professionals and other women in the workplace by providing professional development sessions on building wealth, entrepreneurship and career building. We offer our audience strategies for success in their personal and business life. The powerful, inspirational speakers and numerous networking opportunities enable us to attract professional women who are often difficult to reach through traditional channels.
